Some good 3ROC runs this week with first place going to Colm Moran (running for UCD) in the Irish Student Championships at Kilmore Quay on Sunday where UCD finished 1-2-3-4 in the Men’s race, and Cuan and Eoin Riordan winning their respective classes in the Leinster Schools Championships at Trooperstown on Wednesday. Clíona McCullough meanwhile finished 3rd for Trinity College in the Women’s race at the Student Championships.

Kilmore Quay was as promised, a lovely fast runnable sand dune area with an excellent map and courses (Colm ran sub 58 minutes for the 10.1 km course) but it was a pity that more people didn’t make the journey.

This weekend the closest activity is Setanta’s non-league event at Djouce Woods near Enniskerry. Starts 11 to 1, three courses of 2.2 km, 4.8 km and 6.6 km. Details here. There are also events in Fermanagh on Saturday and in Counties Galway, Cork and Waterford on Sunday plus a sprint event in Belfast.

Fitness training on Monday and Thursday evening at UCD, Belfield, with the brighter evenings.

Irish Championships: If you would like to run on a club relay team for the IOC Relays at Lismore on Monday 2nd May, please email 3roc@orienteering.ie. IOC 2016 details here. Entries close on April 18th.
