Kilkenny Castle, home of the Butlers of Ormond, not the Chocolate ones!

This weekend’s orienteering starts with the 4th Dublin by Night event at Bushy Park, Terenure, on Saturday evening: details should be on the IOA Forum soon. On Sunday it’s a trip to Kilkenny for another WatO Urban Orienteering event, with the courses ranging from 1 km to 7.4 km. In urban races you can usually add about 50% to the straight line distance to get the actual running distance. Details on the Forum here.

A DUO local event at Cabinteely Park had been planned for Sunday 4th but it has been replaced by a joint DUO/UCDO League event at the Pine Forest the following Sunday, February 11th.

Last weekend

Last Saturday’s Killiney Hill night event brought the courses high on the hill to see the spectacular lights of the city, the Kish lighthouse and the coast stretching down to Bray, but only if you took a moment to savour them. Conor Short and Cliodhna Donaghy took first place on the two courses.
