3ROC News 6th May 2015

LVO provided us with some great Irish Championship orienteering over the Bank Holiday weekend, with a sprint, Long Distance, Relay, Sprint Relay and an Urban race. Lots of 3ROC prizewinners – the prizes were very practical, towels, and John McCullough has them for anyone who wasn’t able to make the prizegiving. Contact John to arrange collection or delivery. The prizewinners whose prizes are available for collection include Oisin, Caoimhe and Una May, Cuan Riordan (Sprint); Cian, Caoimhe and Una May and Eoin Riordan (Long distance);  Cian May and Ger Butler (Relay).

Eoin Riordan also won the Nuala Creagh perpetual trophy for the M16 class with a superb run in very difficult conditions at Slieve Croob on Saturday.

Other notable Long distance performances included Eoin McCullough (3rd M21E), Clíona McCullough (1st W20L), Una May (1st W45L). You can see the full results here.

There isn’t any local orienteering on until the CNOC evening series starts on Tuesday May 19th at Donadea, but remember that entries to the Shamrock O-Ringen on the June bank holiday weekend close soon. This great 3-day is in Glengarriff this year and is always worth the journey. See details here.
