This week’s O-News Feb 10-16 2014

Well, no change at last Friday’s AGM: the committee remains as it was, with Honorary Manager John McCullough, Treasurer Gerry Cunningham, and members Ger Butler, Pat Flanagan, Emma McAuley and Lindie Naughton.

This week’s activities include the usual fitness training at Belfield on Monday and Thursday evenings; the last of the Dublin by Night events on Three Rock on Saturday 15th (helpers needed!) – Ger Butler is planning and Lindie is organising. Earlier on Saturday UCC are running a sprint event on the Cork campus: will anyone manage both events? There’s a €9.99 train fare to Cork …

Locally, Setanta are running an event at Djouce on Sunday.

DUO ran an event on Cronybyrne/Claravale last Sunday: cool and showery, but the closest thing we have to a natural forest in Leinster. A good turnout from 3ROC saw Eoin and Colm taking 3rd and 4th on the Brown course, John McCullough 2nd and Clodagh Moran 4th on the Green, and Michael Butler 2nd on the Light Green.

The night before, CNOC‘s Hollywood DBN event also attracted some 3ROC runners: Colm Moran took 2nd on the Long and Kevin Cunningham 2nd on the Short course.

Dates for your diary: Technical training session for members or prospective members (map reading, compass skills etc) at Ticknock on Saturday 22nd February at 11.00.

JK entry fees go up on February 16th (www.thejk.org.uk).
